ACC Technologies, Irvine, CA Technical Support Manager, IT Manager, Engineering Support, 3/93-6/96 A PC hardware manufacturing company where responsibilities included network management and support, customer support regarding product line which included disks, memory, modems and printers, customer returns and replacements, and interfacing between engineering and manufacturing. Designed/implemented software/hardware modifications of existing Novell network to increase reliability and performance. Project managed both internal and external e-mail services using Lotus products. L.A., CA Chief Technology Officer, 7/96-1/03 A digital post-production facility where responsibilities included working the president and other senior staff in developing budgets, management of both the IT staff and systems network infrastructure. This included internal/external connectivity (TCP/IP, DNS),e-mail (sendmail), and installing/troubleshooting of IRIX/Linux, NT/2000, Mac operating systems and associated applications. Also included are Cisco switches/routers, NetApp NAS and Metastore/Ciprico DAS. Developed and managed infrastructure through entire life-cycle stages including design and proposal, system implementation and support. Developed over all IT budget cover current and expected studio needs. Migrated Novell NetWare to Windows NT. Configured Cisco PIX firewall and Cisco 2600 router for secure and granular network access. Enabled communications amongst PCs, SGIs, and Macs via TCP/IP, Samba, and AppleTalk. Duties included design and implementation of both systems and network infrastructures. The system design criteria required regular meetings with senior management and involved issues such as LAN/ WAN connectivity, internal and external security, ease of administration and growth. Designed and implemented a properly scaled LAN/ WAN to meet current and future needs for 2-4 years before upgrades were needed. This involved designing smaller subsidiary locations in Rome and Montreal. Reduced single points of failure by introducing redundancy in power (UPSs and power supplies), servers (multiple NIS, DNS, DHCP) and network (ISDN backup) and redundant configuration locations. Designed computer room with adequate cooling, power, and ventilation. Configured Cisco PIX firewalls with 3DES VPN connectivity with sites in Rome and Montreal. Designed a properly scaled mixed Windows 2K/ Linux network that met current and future needs for 2 years. Designed a combination SAN/Gigabit Ethernet/Ether channel network that ensured streaming HDCAM performance (1990MB/s) with redundancy in both the LAN and SAN. Reduced single points of failure by introducing redundancy in power (UPSs and power supplies), servers (multiple NIS, DNS, DHCP), and redundant data paths for both the LAN and SAN. Boy Wonder. Culver City, CA Chief Technology Officer, 7/02-6/03 A digital post-production facility for film and video, responsibilities included working with the President and Operations Manager in developing budgets, directing strategic goals, policies and procedures of the infrastructure, forecasting long term systems needs and hardware acquisitions. This involved research, purchase, implementation and support during production. Designed an optimal Gigabit Ethernet network that consisted of Foundry and Cisco technologies that met current and future needs for 2 years. This included the ability to play back real time uncompressed images on workstations. Fine tuned system and network performance using tools such as strace, tcpdump, Bonnie LTP test suite, Iperf, mrtg, and other SNMP based tools (snmpwalk). Managed 3 System Administrators and facilities staff. Implemented multiple Gigabit Ether channel file servers that met the demands of hosting multiple shows.
